Paulette Guajardo, was born and raised in Corpus Christi. Her parents, Juan and Magdalena Rodriguez, instilled in her the value of obtaining an education and service to others.
After graduating from Flour Bluff High School, Paulette continued her education at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi where she earned her Bachelor of Business Administration.
Embarking on a career in the insurance industry, Paulette opened her own small business. She owned and operated her own Allstate Insurance agency before selling it after 15 successful years. During that time, she learned the challenges facing small business owners, how problem solving is vital to keeping a business thriving, and how they are critical to keeping Corpus Christi’s economy growing and prospering.
First elected to serve as a Corpus Christi Council Member at Large in November 2016 and re-elected with the most votes of any at-large city council member in November 2018, Paulette has been a strong advocate of our Veterans and our Seniors. She is committed to causes that positively impact the community and support economic development, the environment and quality of life for residents.
Councilwoman Guajardo is a trusted leader who is committed to building and recovering our economy, fixing our streets, strengthening public safety and redefining our role in public health. She is solutions oriented, focused on growing our economy, infrastructure issues, and Corpus Christi’s public safety challenges.
Throughout her lifetime, Paulette has served the community in various capacities, including board leadership with the Ark Assessment Center and Emergency Shelter, Catholic Charities of South Texas, Texas A&M Corpus Christi Alumni Board, Art Museum of South Texas, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Foster Angels of South Texas and the Citizens Review Team at Child Protective Services.
A devoted mother and wife, Paulette is married to local attorney, Victor Guajardo Jr. They have one son, Jude Victor. Both Paulette and Victor have deep roots in the community and along with their son, they are dedicated to preserving the values that make Corpus Christi a wonderful place to call home.
